We install tile floors for any type of space

Bathroom with blue square porcelain floor tiles and a freestanding white bathtub

Bathroom

Matte or textured (structured) tile. Porcelain stoneware combines maximum durability, low water absorption, and safety when exposed to water.

Kitchen with large light gray stone-look porcelain floor tiles, white cabinets and a wood island

Kitchen

Matte or textured with a slight roughness. Porcelain tiles do not show streaks, water droplets, or footprints unlike a glossy finish, which reveals every speck of dust and can easily become slippery when wet.

Entryway with glossy white tile laid in a herringbone pattern, a woven rug and an open front door

Entry & mudroom

Slate, travertine, limestone, and marble with darker grout lend an upscale look to an interior. Slate tiles feature a textured surface and provide good traction, making them slip-resistant even when wet.

Laundry room with large white marble-look floor tiles, a washer and dryer and dark green cabinets

Laundry & basement

Large-format tiles or wood-look porcelain planks. Large tiles visually enlarge a small laundry room and reduce the number of grout lines where lint and detergent residue can accumulate.

Clients about our tile floors

Brodie Woodson
We had him tile our kitchen, dining room and entry way and he had to level the entire area and he did it all in a week. The floor is perfectly flat…
L S
Extremely detailed in his work… I believe he did about 700 sq ft of floor tile, complete walk in shower including the shower pan and large format tile.
Steph
Our project included large 24x48, 23x60, 18x48, 47x47 tiles, which require precision and expertise, and Sergie handled them beautifully.
Teresa Hickam
Sergey explained how everything would come together. Vlad did the tile work. Absolutely beautiful finished floors. Quality all the way!
Bruce McCandliss
Sergey and his team installed a bathroom tile floor as well as stair skirting and engineered hardwood flooring in our downstairs. Really fine workmanship at a fair price.
Julie Unangst
Strong Tile LLC performed a lot of work for my condo remodel that included… tearing out and repouring a severely damaged gyp-crete bathroom floor…
Tammy Reeve
They’ve done all the tile work, including outdoor work for a walkway entryway and outside patio. They are my first choice for any kind of tile work.
Derek
They initially installed tile for us over a decade ago, and the quality and craftsmanship have stood the test of time.

Benefits of tile flooring

Resistance to moisture and stains

Porcelain and glazed ceramic tiles have low porosity, which prevents spilled liquids, moisture, and dirt—such as pet-related messes or food stains—from being absorbed into the material or leaving permanent marks.

High wear resistance

The tiles are resistant to scratches, dents, and mechanical impact. They can last for decades while keeping their original appearance. Unlike vinyl flooring, these tiles do not deform under weight and can withstand the placement of heavy items, such as household appliances.

Easy maintenance

Keeping tiles clean is simple; regular dry and damp cleaning is sufficient. A quick wipe with a damp cloth is all it takes to keep the floor clean.

Healthy indoor environment

Tiles do not harbor dust mites, pet dander, or plant pollen, nor do they emit volatile organic compounds (VOCs).

Design versatility

With a vast array of colors, sizes, and textures available, modern tiles can mimic materials like wood planks or natural stone, or be used to create intricate mosaic patterns.

Increased property value

Installing high-quality tile flooring in rooms such as the kitchen, bathroom, or entryway can increase the market value of your home when you decide to sell it.

Flat floor first

Damage and cracks in tiles typically appear due to the floor substrate being uneven or prone to deflection. Before laying tiles, we check the following:

  • Surface evenness: all irregularities must be addressed before tiling begins.
  • Substrate stability: if the floor is unstable and springs we reinforce it first before any other preparations.
  • Moisture levels in concrete slabs — particularly in basement areas.
  • Floor height at doorways: to ensure that transitions between different floor coverings are seamless and convenient to use.

Floor tile FAQ

How soon can we walk on the new floor?

Usually after 24 hours: that is how long the tile needs to set firmly. We give you the exact time for your floor, since it depends on the tile and the setting materials.

Can you tile over the existing floor?

We remove the old floor first, whether it is tile, vinyl or laminate, and haul it away. Then we check the subfloor for flatness, stability and moisture, so the new tile sits on a solid base.

What tile is best for a bathroom floor?

Matte or textured porcelain tile. It is durable, absorbs very little water and is safer underfoot when the floor gets wet.

Do you remove and reset the toilet?

Yes. We remove the toilet before tiling and put it back with a new wax ring once the floor is done.

Can you add heated floors?

Yes. We can install an electric heating mat under the new tile as part of the same project.

Floor tile installer in the Seattle area

Strong Tile LLC is a tile contractor based in Federal Way, WA. Since 2005 we have completed more than 2,500 residential and commercial projects in the Seattle area. We do floor tile installation in bathrooms, kitchens, entries, mudrooms, laundry rooms and basements, as a separate job or as part of a remodel. The cost depends on the square footage, the tile, the pattern and the work under the floor, and the estimate is free.

We install porcelain tile floors, including large format tile and wood-look porcelain planks, as well as ceramic and mosaic tile. Before tiling we remove the old floor and check the subfloor for flatness, stability and moisture, so the new tile does not crack later. For a bathroom floor tile installation we also take out the toilet and reset it with a new wax ring. We set the tile with even joints, finish the doorways with clean transitions, and can add electric heat under the new floor.
